This morning, at our offices, Fondation Rivières held a press conference to highlight the Couillard government's insistence on relaunching a program to build loss-making small hydroelectric power plants at any cost, in a period of energy surpluses and budget cuts, which runs counter to the recommendations contained in the recent consultation report on Quebec's energy future.

Fondation Rivières calls for a review of the law protecting heritage cultural landscapes

The Fondation Rivières is asking the Minister of Culture and Communications (MCCQ), Maka Kotto, to revise the Cultural Heritage Act in force since October 2012 to prevent certain conflicts of interest involving regional county municipalities (RCMs), as in the case of the hydroelectric power plant project on the heritage site of the Historic Village of Val-Jalbert, from being reproduced in other situations or regions of Quebec.
