Lac Raymond receives varying levels of bacteriological contamination from the Rivière du Nord. An analysis of historical data from 2020 to 2023 showed that Escherichia coli (E. coli) concentrations tend to increase between Parc des Amoureux in Val-David and the river mouth in Val-Morin. The results of previous studies also show that contaminated runoff from the Brissette outfall affects water quality in the Rivière du Nord. Thanks to APELRRIN for its collaboration in this study.

From Mirabel to Saint-André d'Argenteuil, people are demanding better access to this stretch of the Rivière du Nord. And access means better water quality for fishing, swimming and non-motorized water sports (canoeing, kayaking, etc.).
Thanks to funding from the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation as part of the "Soutien au rayonnement des régions" component of the "Fonds régions et ruralité", and the participation of the cities of Mirabel and Lachute, Fondation Rivières and the Coopérative Enclume carried out field scouting activities and an assessment of the recreational tourism potential along the Rivière du Nord during the summer of 2023.

Fondation Rivières conducted a study of the bacteriological quality of the water in the Rivière L'Assomption to assess its potential for swimming and water sports.

Fondation Rivières studied the water quality of the Rivière du Nord between Prévost and Saint-Jérôme to assess its potential for swimming and water sports.
