Saint-Jérôme partners with Fondation Rivières to assess the swimming potential in the Rivière du Nord

The Fondation Rivières will conduct a study on the water quality of the Rivière du Nord in order to highlight the swimming potential. The announcement was made by the mayor, Janice Bélair-Rolland, and by the president of the Foundation, Alain Saladzius, during a press conference organized as part of the Grand Splash event, which was held for the first time times in Saint-Jérôme.

Sanitation of the Rivière du Nord: wastewater overflows tarnish the environmental record

Press release - Untreated wastewater overflows continue unabated in the St. Lawrence and rivers, particularly the Rivière du Nord, according to a report produced by Fondation Rivières and sent to each of its 13 tributary municipalities. The report assesses the performance of the 18 wastewater treatment plants and presents the number of untreated wastewater overflows for the period 2008 to 2015.
