He was heavily involved in the functioning of the latter institution, first within the professors' union (1995-2007) by holding several positions including that of president, then as a member of the Board of Directors (2007-2015) and finally by directing the Department of Electrical Engineering (2015-2021) and the Office of Faculty Affairs (2021-2024).
