voil\u00e0 ce \u00e0 quoi ont \u00e9t\u00e9 confront\u00e9s des canotiers en 2017 lors d\u2019un \u00e9v\u00e9nement sur la rivi\u00e8re Richelieu. C\u2019est \u00e9galement ce qui a motiv\u00e9 la Fondation Rivi\u00e8res \u00e0 entreprendre une \u00e9valuation des syst\u00e8mes de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du bassin versant de la rivi\u00e8re Richelieu et de la zone Saint-Laurent (entre Longueuil et la MRC Pierre-de-Saurel) afin d\u2019identifier les sources de pollution d\u2019origine municipale.<\/p><p>Une telle \u00e9valuation n\u2019avait jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9alis\u00e9e de mani\u00e8re aussi d\u00e9taill\u00e9e au Qu\u00e9bec auparavant. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, l\u2019acc\u00e8s aux donn\u00e9es brutes de suivi de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es \u00e9tait difficile et les informations g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es \u00e9taient format\u00e9es de us\u00e9es implique d\u2019interpr\u00e9ter des donn\u00e9es de suivi des ouvrages et ce, sur plusieurs ann\u00e9es et \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle du bassin versant. Or, ces donn\u00e9es n\u2019\u00e9taient disponibles que sous forme de rapports annuels, segment\u00e9s par ouvrages. Un fastidieux travail de structuration et de saisie manuelle de donn\u00e9es a donc \u00e9t\u00e9 entrepris par la Fondation Rivi\u00e8res afin de dresser un portrait juste de la situation entre 2008 et 2016. Ce travail a permis d\u2019avoir une bonne id\u00e9e des tendances et de l\u2019ampleur des probl\u00e9matiques en termes de traitement des eaux us\u00e9es sur la rivi\u00e8re Richelieu et dans une portion du fleuve.<\/p><p>En plus de r\u00e9aliser des \u00e9valuations quantitatives \u00e0 partir des donn\u00e9es publiques, la Fondation Rivi\u00e8res a contact\u00e9 les municipalit\u00e9s op\u00e9rant des ouvrages d\u2019assainissement. L\u2019objectif : valider les constats tir\u00e9s des donn\u00e9es de suivi et conna\u00eetre les actions entreprises par les municipalit\u00e9s pour r\u00e9soudre leurs enjeux de traitement des eaux mauvaise distribution des financements par le gouvernement. Le rapport a agi tel un \u00e9lectrochoc sur les administrations municipales, qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sensibilis\u00e9es sur leur r\u00f4le \u00e0 jouer dans la r\u00e9duction des d\u00e9bordements et la protection des cours d\u2019eau.<\/p><p>Le <a href=\"https:\/\/covabar.qc.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVABAR<\/a> a appuy\u00e9 les conclusions et recommandations du rapport et collabor\u00e9 avec la Fondation Rivi\u00e8res sur certains enjeux soulev\u00e9s, dont celui des fr\u00e9quences de d\u00e9bordement tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9es.<\/p><p>La m\u00e9thode de travail
