The two organizations submitted recommendations presented in the form of a memorandum to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MAMH).<\/strong><\/p><p>More specifically, the Foundation contributed to the formulation of the 5th recommendation: improve objective 6.2 and expectation 6.2.1 in order to promote free access to bodies of water for swimming and non-motorized water activities. .\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-30cb320 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"30cb320\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-large\">Promote free access to bodies of water for swimming and non-motorized water activities<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4f4be93 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4f4be93\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The Fondation Rivi\u00e8res and <a href=\"https:\/\/eausecours.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emergency Water<\/a> support the obligation to list water bodies of recreational interest and to provide means to create or maintain their <a href=\"https:\/\/fondationrivieres.org\/en\/our-actions\/acces-public-a-leau\/\">public access<\/a>.<\/p><p>Supported by Eau Secours, the Fondation Rivi\u00e8res however proposes two additions which would reinforce the beneficial social and environmental impacts of this measure. It is first important to promote free access to bodies of water for swimming and non-motorized water activities. These activities are less damaging to the environment than motorized activities and are generally the only activities that people with lower incomes can reasonably engage in.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ae4dc90 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ae4dc90\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-large\">Publish a public access map in Quebec<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ebee95d elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"ebee95d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Furthermore, in order to alleviate the environmental and social pressures associated with recreational tourism activities, it would be appropriate to publish a map of public access on a unified online platform for the entire province.
