Our sewage spill map, on which the municipal rankings are based, has served to fuel public debate on numerous occasions in the media. Here she is who, for the very first time, makes her entrance onto the cultural scene: she is integrated into the journey of the daring exhibition Oh shit! at the Museum of Civilization of Quebec, presented until March 26, 2023.

The interactive map provides an overall portrait of wastewater spills in Quebec: the number of spills and their total monthly duration on the territory of the municipalities are listed. This exercise, which we have been doing annually since 2020, is based on data from the Ministry of the Environment (MELCCFP).

During the visit to the Museum of Civilization, it allows visitors to measure the extent of the problem of spills in its environmental and social context. At the same time, O shit! allows you to learn more about the issues of fecal matter management in Quebec and internationally, health crises, unsanitary issues and the hope of reusing excrement.

It gives us pleasure to see that our work contributes to local culture, considering that the artistic community, and by extension, the cultural community, has mobilized for 20 years now alongside us for the protection of rivers.
