It's on the territory of the Innu communities of the C\u00f4te-Nord that we find the rivers of greatest interest to Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec. There are seven major endangered rivers on the C\u00f4te Nord, including the Rivi\u00e8re du <\/span>Little Mecatina<\/span><\/a> which is currently being <\/span>a preliminary study<\/span><\/a> on hydroelectric potential by Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec. <\/span>In the wake of the<\/span>La Romaine complex opens in April 2023<\/span><\/a>Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec reiterated its intention to develop<\/span> new dams on the North Shore<\/span><\/a> with the Petit M\u00e9catina river. <\/span>Located on the border of Labrador, the Petit Mecatina River flows into the St. Lawrence River between Natashquan and Blanc-Sablon, and has its source in Labrador. The government of <\/span>says<\/span><\/a> to develop dams in the area, with plans to build power plants with a potential of 1,200 MW on the river after the end of the <\/span>Romaine project<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
