Une <a href=\"https:\/\/cdnsciencepub.com\/doi\/full\/10.1139\/cjfas-2017-0561#.W2rqJChKg2w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">\u00e9tude men\u00e9e en 2017 par une \u00e9quipe de chercheurs de l\u2019Institut des Sciences de la For\u00eat Temp\u00e9r\u00e9e de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec en Outaouais (UQO)<\/a> rel\u00e8ve que les r\u00e9servoirs en r\u00e9gion bor\u00e9ale, comme au Qu\u00e9bec, ont peu d\u2019effet sur le nombre d\u2019esp\u00e8ces qu\u2019on y retrouve. Or, ils affectent les structures d\u2019esp\u00e8ces. En d\u2019autres mots, la pr\u00e9sence de ces r\u00e9servoirs ne m\u00e8ne pas \u00e0 l&rsquo;apparition ou \u00e0 la disparition d\u2019esp\u00e8ces, mais leur pr\u00e9sence modifie la quantit\u00e9 d\u2019individus au sein d&rsquo;une m\u00eame esp\u00e8ce. Les r\u00e9servoirs s&rsquo;av\u00e8rent ainsi avantageux pour certaines, dont les cor\u00e9gonid\u00e9s et les brochets, mais n\u00e9faste pour d\u2019autres, incluant les meuniers et un salmonid\u00e9.<\/p><p>L\u2019augmentation de la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019eau due \u00e0 l\u2019eau stagnante ainsi que la d\u00e9composition de la mati\u00e8re organique suite \u00e0 l&rsquo;inondation du sol pourraient expliquer ce ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne. C\u2019est pourquoi plusieurs de ces barrages sont munis de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ledevoir.com\/opinion\/chroniques\/348547\/laissez-passer-les-poissons\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">passes migratoires pour poissons<\/a>, et parfois, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydroquebec.com\/data\/developpement-durable\/pdf\/fiche-anguille-amerique-fr.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">pour anguilles<\/a>. Hydro-Qu\u00e9bec d\u00e9ploie beaucoup d\u2019efforts dans leur maintenance, mais les r\u00e9sultats sont souvent al\u00e9atoires. Ces passes ne garantissent donc pas la survie de toutes les esp\u00e8ces qui y transitent. Face aux changements climatiques et \u00e0 la hausse de la temp\u00e9rature de l\u2019eau, il importe de faciliter le passage des esp\u00e8ces vers des eaux qui leurs sont adapt\u00e9es.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4230e97 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"4230e97\" Puisque c\u2019est une esp\u00e8ce qui choisit de vivre dans des milieux sauvages, au riche couvert v\u00e9g\u00e9tal et le moins perturb\u00e9 possible par toute forme d\u2019activit\u00e9 humaine, elle est tr\u00e8s sensible \u00e0 ces derni\u00e8res, incluant les barrages hydro\u00e9lectriques. Pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment, ce sont les lignes de transport d\u2019\u00e9nergie ainsi que la construction de routes d\u2019acc\u00e8s aux centrales qui perturbent son habitat.<\/p><p>Ces modifications au territoire ont pour effet d\u2019ouvrir la voie aux pr\u00e9dateurs, dont le loup. Le CO2 \u00e9mis provient de la mati\u00e8re organique qui se d\u00e9compose dans l\u2019eau apr\u00e8s avoir \u00e9t\u00e9 submerg\u00e9e par la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019un r\u00e9servoir. Les \u00e9missions d\u00e9clinent avec le temps sur une p\u00e9riode d\u2019une centaine d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Ces \u00e9missions sont particuli\u00e8rement importantes durant les 20 premi\u00e8res ann\u00e9es d\u2019exploitation.<\/p><p>Les grands barrages g\u00e9n\u00e8rent aussi du m\u00e9thane. Ce puissant gaz \u00e0 effet de serre se forme \u00e9galement \u00e0 partir de la mati\u00e8re organique submerg\u00e9e, dans les s\u00e9diments au fond de l\u2019eau.
