Protected wetlands: the CMM, an example to follow for Saint-Donat

The Metropolitan Community of Montreal (CMM) adopted a regulation on April 28, 2022 aimed at protecting several natural environments in its territory, including wetlands. However, a stone's throw from the territory of the CMM, the municipality of Saint-Donat stands out for its inconsistency in authorizing the Domaine de la Montagne Noire real estate development project, damaging fragile natural environments.

Speed regulation on the Richelieu River: real progress

A reasonable compromise: this is what the regulation of the speed of motorboats on the Richelieu River represents. The four municipalities concerned – Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Charles-sur-Richelieu, Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu and Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu – have adopted a draft amended regulation which will be submitted to Transport Canada .
