The film Look for the current is a documentary by Nicolas Boisclair and Alexis de Gheldere with Roy Dupuis which takes us, for one last time before it is destroyed by a hydroelectric complex, to the Romaine River. In 2008, they descended the Romaine in a canoe as Hydro-Québec prepared to build four hydroelectric dams there. The co-founder of Fondation Rivières, Roy Dupuis, and the filmmakers tour Quebec to meet energy specialists who explain the environmental and economic advantages of new technologies, as alternatives to hydroelectric dams.
Watch Look for the current
Public consultation on energy
In July 2013, the Quebec government announced that a public consultation on energy would take place from September 4 to October 11, 2013 across Quebec. Look for the current invites us to reflect on Quebec's future energy policy. It is therefore intended to be an inspiration and encouragement to citizens who wish to take part in this important democratic process.
A report on the Romaine hydroelectric development project
In 2008, Fondation Rivières submitted a brief to the Office of Public Hearings on the Environment (BAPE) concerning the hydroelectric development project on the Romaine River.
